Through darkness, through pain, through fog of mind and heart - keep seeking beauty..
I've not got back in the saddle with creating the way I had endeavoured this year so far - but that’s ok..
I've been thinking about the need to seek Beauty! ...I don't mean being a super model or a Homes and Garden decor expert! - I mean looking for beauty in everyday things. Life can be hard, painful, let’s say sometimes excruciating!...but in dark times, I know my soul craves beauty - to soothe my soul.
Sometimes the soul just needs to see simplicity in beauty.. or beauty in simplicity?. whichever way around - it works both ways! A rose, a beautiful landscape, washing blowing on the washing line, or a great piece of music! ... a hug.. or a note from a friend that says "I get you"..
I dug out an old tiny sketch book from a few years ago, and tinkered with some of them. It’s good to remember . These are of holiday sketches at our favourite family spot, Borth in midwales . we call it Borthbados, as we get spoilt with amazing sunsets that take our breath away!
I've got a song and some lyrics that seem to fit with my post today. It's called "KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN" and you HAVE to listen to this song for this post to make sense!... oh and you may end up listening to more of Need to Breathe - they are a brilliant band that sing with such heart.

When you are in a dark time, its easy to want to shut the windows and not look out. But there IS beauty outside. There are little peeks everywhere you go. Thats why I record the beauty I see, then I dig it out later - and remember - oh yes that was a beauty of a day! The colours, the breeze, the sounds of the birds..

Sometimes despite the fear, the loss, you have to make a mark, and say " I AM HERE"... it could be you choose to get up today. It could be you do the dishes. It could be you start that project you have had waiting on the sidelines. It could be you connect with someone or something new. Or you go on an adventure!
What is the " metaphorical paintbrush" you need to pick up? Sometimes we need quiet. Sometimes we need to ' re-boot'... I hope today gives you a moment to reflect. Be thankful for the simplicity in beauty.. or the beauty in simplicity... and keep seeking Beauty in life - Keep your Eyes Open!
